Yes — HBO Max is available in Ireland. It launched here and in the UK on Thursday 26 March 2026, bringing HBO series, Warner Bros. films, DC titles and Max Originals into one app.
Update (24 September 2026): an earlier version of this article said HBO Max had no confirmed Irish launch. That was wrong, and we’ve rewritten it.
How to get HBO Max in Ireland
There are two main routes:
- Directly from HBO Max — sign up at hbomax.com and pay monthly or yearly.
- Through Sky — Warner Bros. Discovery named Sky as a launch partner for the UK and Ireland, so Sky customers can check their account or Sky’s website for how HBO Max is included or offered.
If you already watch HBO shows through Sky or NOW, check what your current package includes before paying for a second subscription.
Plans
At launch, HBO Max offered four plan types: Basic with Ads, Standard with Ads, Standard and Premium. The higher tiers add ad-free viewing, more simultaneous streams and higher picture quality.
Warner Bros. Discovery’s launch announcement listed prices in sterling for the UK only. Check hbomax.com for the current euro prices in Ireland — we’ll add them here once confirmed.
What you can watch on it
HBO Max carries HBO originals (for example House of the Dragon and The Last of Us), Warner Bros. films, DC Studios titles and Max Originals. Exact availability of individual titles can differ between countries, so search for a specific show in the app before subscribing just for it.
Watching it on your TV
The HBO Max app runs on most recent smart TVs, streaming sticks, games consoles, phones and tablets. If your TV is older and the app isn’t in its store, a plug-in streaming stick such as the Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K is a cheap way to add it — but check the supported devices list on hbomax.com first.
