On Air Ireland is free to read. This page explains how the site pays for itself, so you can judge our guides with that in mind.

Our only income today is the Amazon Associates Programme. When a guide links to a product on Amazon and you buy through that link, we may earn a small commission. You pay the same price either way. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases.

We’ve also applied to join the Awin and Tradedoubler affiliate networks, so we can link to Irish retailers and TV and streaming providers as well as Amazon. We’ll name any partner on this page once it’s active. Our Tradedoubler site ID is 3503842.

Posts that contain affiliate links say so at the top, and product cards carry a short disclosure line. Affiliate links are marked so search engines know they are paid links.

We don’t show prices next to Amazon products, because Amazon’s rules only allow prices that update live. Check the current price on Amazon before you buy.

What we never take money for

  • Anything that isn’t licensed in Ireland. We only cover, link to and work with licensed services, official apps and reputable retailers.
  • Rankings or verdicts. No company can pay to be recommended, ranked higher or reviewed more kindly.

If we ever publish sponsored content, it will be clearly labelled as sponsored at the top of the page.

How we choose what to recommend

  • We only cover services and devices that are legally available in Ireland.
  • A device needs to run the apps Irish viewers use, such as RTÉ Player, Virgin Media Play, TG4 Player and the main paid services.
  • Our product picks focus on items we can link to, so we may not cover every option on the market.
  • Unless a review says it is hands-on, it is based on research: manufacturer specifications, app store listings and the providers’ own help pages.

How the guides are written

Some articles start as drafts produced with AI assistance. Each one is reviewed and edited before it is published, and prices and availability are checked against the provider’s own website. When we can’t confirm something, we say so in the guide.
